Sma APO 120-400mm f/4.5-5.6 DG OS HSM Dital Photography. I have Nikon D3100 with Nikkor AF-S DX VR 55-200/4,0-5,6 G ED and I'm shooting everything - animals, landscape, people, sport, ... I was looking at Sma APO 135-400mm F4.5-5.6 AF (I found it for good price), but I think it's quite old lens. Could there be some difference in resulting image (colors, sharpness) because of lens age? This lens incorporates HSM Hyper Sonic Motor, which ensures a quiet and hh-speed AF as well as full-time manual focusing capability.
Nikon - Is it worth to buy old Sma lens instead of Nikkor. It interests me because of it's focal length and I'm thinking about buying it instead of current lens. Can I have any problems shooting from hands without VR? Because it doesn't have a built-in focus motor ("AF-S" for Nikon, "HSM" for Sma) it's manual focus only.
